Infection Fighter: Cranberry Juice. A well-known UTI remedy, cranberry juice can be a boon in fighting other infections, as well.
Its top antioxidants, proanthocyanidins, have been proven to prevent E.coli and H.pylori bacteria from adhering to tissue so ailments like ulcers can't take hold, report experts at St. Francis College in New York City.
They also stop cavity- causing bacteria from sticking to teeth, say experts at the University of Rochester in New York. For these perks, sip two 8 oz. servings of unsweetened juice daily (like R.W. Knudsen Family Just Cranberry), advises Ann Louise Gittleman, Ph.D., author of The Fat Flush Cookbook.
